I don't get it at all.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\"That\u2019s the wrong way to do it.\"<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Judgment is fast and immediate. In a split second, it evaluates the other person based entirely on my standards.<br>The biggest problem? The moment judgment begins, your willingness to understand the other person shuts down completely.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>What is Curiosity?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Curiosity, on the other hand, is an open attitude. It\u2019s the desire to ask \"Why?\" to truly understand the other person and learn more about the facts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>\"What's the reason they are saying that?\"<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\"What's the background behind doing it this way?\"<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\"Is there some information I'm missing?\"<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Unlike judgment, curiosity is the desire to know before you interpret. It\u2019s the conscious effort to look for the context, intention, and logic hidden behind someone's words.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Simply put: Judgment closes the conversation, while curiosity opens it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Attitude Matters More Than Skill<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If you want to have better conversations, you need to check your attitude before you try to learn new speaking techniques.<br>You can never build a healthy dialogue if you approach it with the intention to teach or direct the other person.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A dictating attitude carries hidden messages like:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>\"I know better than you.\"<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\"My way is the right answer.\"<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\"You don't know, so I have to teach you.\"<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">When this mindset takes root, there's absolutely no room for the other person's thoughts or ideas. Naturally, instead of listening, the thought \"That's wrong\" takes over. And at that exact moment, the conversation dies<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>The Moment Judgment Starts, the Conversation Stops<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We often catch ourselves thinking:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>\"Ah, this person has no idea what they're talking about.\"<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\"Why are they doing that? I would never do it that way.\"<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\"This is so basic, how do they not know this?\"<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The moment these thoughts pop up, our brain switches from 'understanding mode' to 'evaluation mode.'
